Our Mission Statement
The Quiet Yonkers Coalition was formed by concerned residents in response to the 2023 changes to the city’s noise ordinance. We believe in balancing urban vitality with the need for peace and quiet in our communities.
Park Hill resident Peter Cohn, a documentary filmmaker, started the group in early 2025. He got involved when he encountered a serious noise issue with a neighbor, and in seeking to resolve that he learned more about noise and the inner working of Yonkers city government.
